Note: A scheduled release field may change, so a fresh status check is more useful than an old saved image.
Lyon County Release Notifications
Registration should be attached to the correct Lyon County record before the expected event. Delivery methods can include phone, text, email, or an in-app notice. Release, bond, and court-order alerts start after VINE receives updated jail data. A transfer notice is delayed eight hours, while a death notice waits 12 hours. Those planned intervals are part of the notification rules. They are distinct from ordinary data or processing lag.
Minn. Stat. ยง 13.854 protects the identity and contact details of a person who asks for a VINE notice, as well as the fact that notice was requested or provided. Those details are accessible to the requester rather than becoming a public field on the inmate record. Registration is therefore separate from the public status search. A user can check the record without turning notification contact data into part of the displayed profile.
Lyon County's Two Alert Systems
Minnesota uses a consequential split. VINE follows county jail and detention events. A transfer from Lyon County Jail into state prison ends the Lyon custody event, but the county registration should not be represented as following the person through MNDOC. Lyon County VINELink Limits
VINELink does not replace the Bureau of Prisons locator, ICE's current detainee locator, a federal docket, or MNDOC's state-prison tools. It also does not turn Lyon County's current roster into a release archive. Each source has its own jurisdiction. A BOP result concerns federal custody; an ICE miss is not proof of release; and an MNDOC community status concerns state corrections jurisdiction.
Automated feeds can lag. Names can be entered in more than one form. A short county booking may be hard to spot on the roster's cycle. If a VINE alert is missing or unclear, check the live record and contact the jail. Use the event label and official agency response together before relying on a release conclusion.
